Project description
ICILS was designed to respond to a question of critical interest today: How well are students prepared for study, work, and life in the digital age? The study measures international differences in students’ computer and information literacy (CIL). This type of literacy refers to students’ ability to use computers to investigate, create, and communicate in order to participate effectively at home, at school, in the workplace, and in the community. The study collects a rich array of data from students in the study’s target grade in order to enable investigation of the factors that influence this suite of abilities in these students. This information provides education systems and policymakers with an important data source on the contexts and outcomes of CIL-related education programs. (IQB)

Notes on the use of the data
Where can I find the items of the scales "ICT self-efficacy advanced skills", "ICT self-efficacy basic skills" and "Interest and enjoyment in using ICT"?
The items of those scales are included in the students` data set:
- ICT self-efficacy basic skills scale ([S_BASEFF]): 6 items - IS1G25A, IS1G25C, IS1G25E, IS1G25F, IS1G25L, IS1G25M (Cronbachs α = .80)
- ICT self-efficacy advanced skills scale ([S_ADVEFF]): 7 items - IS1G25B, IS1G25D, IS1G25G, IS1G25H, IS1G25I, IS1G25J, IS1G25K (α = .81)
